Girls' Cricket set to make a big impact in 2010

Pictures on the left from the Girls' Day in August 2009 at Mulbarton Youth Cricket Club's  ninth annual Cricket Carnival illustrate the great strides made in girls' cricket over the last twelve months.

To consolidate the growing popularity of the game within the county, The South Norfolk Community League is to introduce an U13 girls only League.

See details below of the new competition and how to register your interest.

Girls age limits for participation in other leagues

Whilst the new U13 competition focuses on encouraging additional girls to play cricket in a competitive environment, it is appreciated that there are an increasing number who have moved above this level and are now competing in hardball games.

For 2010, the league will allow girls to play two years below their age in the hardball matches. The intention is to accelerate the transition of players from the softball game leading to the introduction of dedicated girls only leagues across the county.
